ABOUT THE OWNER
John Wiley
Growing up in Northern NSW, John could regularly be found at the beaches between Ballina & Byron Bay with his borrowed video-camera in tow. It was this early love of surf films that lead him towards a career in television and video production. His passion took him to the Gold Coast, where he undertook a Bachelor of Communication (Digital Video). During that time he began freelancing as a videographer, and supplying footage to some of the countries largest surf publications. He graduated from Griffith University in 2009 and was awarded the University Medal for the highest academic achievements.
Upon completion of his degree – in which he finished at the very top of his cohort – he continued to steadily build a name for himself as both a camera operator and editor. His television credits include TV programs such as Big Brother and 4WD Touring Australia. Additionally, he spent plenty of time honing his skills on commercial sets as a 1st Assistant Cameraman. While working on these productions, he endeavoured to gain a broader understanding of the entire production process from the conception of a project through to its final delivery. He uses this valuable knowledge to help guide his clients through the minefield of video production.
In 2016, a growing family saw John return to his roots in the Northern Rivers hinterland. He now resides in Tregeagle, just outside Lismore, NSW. He balances his time between national-level clients which see him travelling all throughout Australia – and the world – and local businesses which share the same passion for serving the local community & lifestyle as he does. And you might just find him once again on his beloved Northern Rivers beaches, with his camera in tow.
